Nail psoriasis is actually onycholysis.

Nail Psoriasis

Nail psoriasis in some form is present in a lot of psoriatics. Many psoriatics develop this condition over the years as their health deteriorate. Even though this health issue is generally considered as autoimmune I don’t think so.

The problem is that you can have one nail affected by onycholysis (which means a detachment of nail from the nail bed) and the other nail infected by fungus.

Any doctor can not determine which nail onycholysis is caused by fungal infection and which onycholysis is actually the nail psoriasis (being caused by whatever is the underlying cause).

By the way I think that Autonomic Nervous System is the cause of onycholysis present in psoriatics affected by nail psoriasis.

In my future articles I will present more photos of nail anomalies in people affected by psoriasis and chronic inflammation.

There is a lot of different nail abnormalities present in chronically sick people.

Psoriatics are commonly affected by nail pitting, onycholysis, subungual hyperkeratosis and nail fungus.

Nail psoriasis is actually onycholysis.

Nail psoriasis on hand. What is it really? “Idiopathic” onycholysis or nail fungus?
